Bio

Mrs. Anastazie Elizabeth Jaska, 76, died at her home in the Ross Community at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, 1963. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the Church of the Assumption in West with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery. Rosary was recited Thursday at 8:00 p.m. at Kotch Funeral Chapel in West. Mrs. Jaska was a native of Czechoslovakia. She had lived at Ross the past 27 years. She was a member of the Church of the Assumption at West and was a member of its Altar Society and Rosary Society. She is survived by five sons, John F. Jaska, Edward V. Jaska, and Louis B. Jaska, all of Ross, Robert C. Jaska of Bryan and Ernest H. Jaska of Sherman; four daughters, Mrs. Agnes Lednicky and Mrs. Stasie Janek, both of West, Mrs Bessie Hlavaty of Abbott, and Mrs. Mary King of Ross; two brothers, Anton Hejl of West and John J. Hejl of Ross; five sisters Mrs. Frances Sinkule, Mrs. Mary Novak and Mrs. Antonie Nors, all of West, Miss Matilda Hejl of Ross and Mrs. Christine Marek of Waco; 42 grandchildren , six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Jaska was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Charles Jaska who died in 1936, , and two infant sons, Josef Jaska and Josef A. Jaska, her parents Jan and Antonia (Burian) Hejl and a sister Mrs. Louise Chudej. Pallbearers will be: Timothy, Jim, and Raymond Jaska, Jerome Lednicky, Jr., and Joseph Lednicky and Antone Pustejovsky, all grandsons. Honorary pallbearers are Patrick Jaska, John King, Jr., Mike Jaska, Jonathan Janek and Ricky Jaska, also grandsons. Altar boys will be grandsons, Louis R. Janek, Jr., and Robert Joseph Janek.
