Last Rites Held For Mrs. Novak Mrs. Mary Novak, 75, died in her home at West at 3:25 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23. Funeral services were held at 9:30 a.m. Monday in St. Mary's Church of the Assumption, Msgr. I.J. Valenta officiated, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in Kotch Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Novak was born in Czechoslovakia. She came to the United States with her parents when she was 14. She lived in the West area the rest of her life. Mrs. Novak was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, the Rosary Society and the KJZT Lodge. Her husband, John Novak, died in 1949. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Frank J. Nors, Mrs. William (Bill) Chudej, Mrs. Raymond Chudej, all of West; four sisters, Mrs. Henry Nors, Mrs. Matt Sinkule, Miss Matilda Hejl, all of West, and Mrs. Adolph Marek of Waco; two brothers, Anton Hejl of West and John Hejl of Ross; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
