Bio

Edward V. Jaska is the son of Joseph and Anastazie Jaska. Edward married Lavonia B. Jaska. Edward and Lavonia are the parents of Timothy Edward Jaska, Richard Pat Jaska and James Lemuel Jaska, all of Ross, Texas. Edward entered the US Army in 1942, attaining the rank of T/5. He was awarded American Theater Campaign Medal, Victory Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He was discharged in 1946 (listed on Page 108 of "Texas veterans of Czech Ancestry' by Czech Heritage Society of Texas published in 1999). Edward graduated from Baylor University. Edward was the principal of Ross Elementary School, Ross, Texas from 1952-1975. He was also a teacher and basketball and baseball coach, winning many awards in sports. The brothers of Edward are John Jaska, Louis B. Jaska, Robert C. Jaska and Ernest H. Jaska. His sisters are Agnes Lednicky, Bessie Hlavaty, Mary King and Stasie Janek.
