John F. Jaska, 68, of Ross died Wednesday afternoon July 27th, in the West Community Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, Rev. Pat Murphy celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's cemetery. Rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Thursday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West. Mr. Jaska was born Aug. 4, 1908, in McLennan County. He married Corene Killion in Waco on June 25, 1947. He owned and operated the Ross Store from 1934 to 1972. He served as an election judge in Ross for many years. He was a charter member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bellmead. He was a farmer and a rancher in the Ross area. Survivors include his wife; four brothers, Edward Jaska, Louis B. Jaska, both of Ross, Robert Jaska of Bryan and Ernest Jaska of Robinson; and four sisters, Mrs. Jerome J. (Agnes) Lednicky, Sr. and Mrs. Louis (Stasie) Janek, both of West, Mrs. Ernest (Bessie) Hlavaty of Abbott and Mrs. John (Mary) King of Ross. Pallbearers were Robert Jaska, Richard Jaska, Mark Jaska, Raymond Jaska, Jonathan Janek, Mark Pustejovsky, John King, Jr. and Joe Lednicky.
