Married: Idella Mary Rayno on November 24, 1909 In Grand Island, Hall County, Nebraska Children (11): Edward 1910, Angela 1912, Florence 1913, Henry 1914, Lloyd 1915, Floyd 1917, Arthur 1918, Lola 1921, Dorothy 1922, Albert 1923, Christie 1925 James M. Goodwin, 78, lifelong resident and farmer in the Dannebrog and Cairo Communities, died early this morning at the family farm six miles southwest of Cairo. He had been in ill health the past week but death came unexpectedly. Funeral services will be observed at 9:30 Friday morning in Blessed Sacrament Church. A requiem mass will be offered at that time. Burial is to be in Calvary Cemetery in West Lawn Memorial Park. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 Thursday evening in the Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home and friends may call until 9 o'clock Thursday evening at the funeral home. James Milton Goodwin, the son of William and Elizabeth Goodwin, was born October 24, 1882, at Dannebrog. He received his schooling in the Dannebrog community. He and Idella Rayno were married in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Grand Island, November 24, 1909. They observed their 51st wedding anniversary last November 24. They began their home on a farm south of Dannebrog. Later they resided on a farm near Halsey and in South Dakota. They had made their home in Grand Island for several years before they returned to farming in 1942 in the Cairo community. Mrs. Goodwin died January 1 of this year. He is survived by five sons, Edward and Arthur, both of Grand Island, and Lloyd, Floyd and Albert, all of Cairo; five daughters, Mrs. Frank Stauss, Jr., Mrs. Dean Zlomke and Mrs. John Wieck, all of Grand Island, Mrs. Arnold Leschinsky, Spencer, Iowa, and Mrs. Edward Potzreba of Central City; 46 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one son, Henry Goodwin; and four brothers and four sisters. GRAND ISLAND INDEPENDENT May 9, 1961
