Married to Bonnita Maxine Dubbs on May 18, 1948 at St. Mary's Cathedral; Grand Island, Hall County, Nebraska Brother of: Edward, Angela, Florence, Henry, Lloyd, Floyd, Arthur, Lola, Dorothy, Albert, Christie Albert Goodwin, 76, of Cairo, died Monday, May 15, 2000, at the V.A. Medical Center. Services will be at 10:30 A.M. Friday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The Rev. Don Larmore will officiate. Burial will be in West lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 P.M. Thursday at the church with a 7 P.M. rosary service. Memorials are suggested to the family. Kleine Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Goodwin was born May 24, 1923, in Halsey to James M. and Idella Rayno Goodwin. As a young boy he lived at South Dakota for a year before returning to Nebraska. He entered the U.S. Army in 1945 and served during the Korean Conflict. He received his discharge in 1947. He married Bonnie Dubbs on May 18, 1948, in Grand Island. They farmed for two years and then he worked at the Cornhusker Army Ammunition Plant. They moved to Grand Island where he worked for West lawn Memorial Park Cemetery and for Wilson Concrete for more than 7 years. The family moved to Cairo and lived on a farm west of Cairo for more than 40 years. He also worked for several construction companies, Baxter Feed Yard, drilling wells and at Monfort, now ConAgra Beef Company. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church and a lifetime member of the D.A.V. and the American Legion. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Albert of North Platte, Larry of Cairo and Bill of Linwood; one daughter, Susan Rolfsmeyer of Kearney; four grandchildren; two adopted grandchildren; two great-grandsons; one brother, Lloyd of Cairo; and one sister, Christie Holz of Central City. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Ed, Henry, Floyd and Arthur and four sisters, Angela, Florence, Lola and Dorothy. GRAND ISLAND INDEPENDENT May 18, 2000
