Married to William Christopher Goodwin on February 11, 1863 in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception; Burlington, Vermont Children (13): Agnes, Arthur, Henry, Cecelia, Mary, Elizabeth, Frank, Albert, James, Beatrice, Lily, (unknown) son, (unkown) son Sister of: Abbey, Ellen, John, Edward, William, Louisa Mrs. Elizabeth Goodwin, a resident of Nebraska, USA for more than a half century, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mary Goff, 609 West Koenig Street, at 6 AM Friday. She had been failing in health for some time past. About two weeks ago she sustained a paralytic stroke, since which time her condition was serious. She was aged 82 years. Mr. and Mrs. Goodwin came to Nebraska in 1873 from Vermont, their early home. Shortly after their arrival Mr. Goodwin took up a homestead in the Loup Valley, where the family resided for many years. Since the death of her husband, in 1896, Mrs. Goodwin had spent a portion of her time with her children, and the remainder at the Soldiers' Home, of which she was a member. Six children have also preceded the mother in death. Surviving her are four daughters: Mrs. John Murphy, Mrs. Mary Goff, and the Misses Celia and Elizabeth Goodwin, all of Grand Island: and three sons: Arthur, of Cody, Nebr.: Frank, of Denver, Colo.; and James Milton of Grand Island. Definite arrangements for the funeral have not as yet been made, pending word from relatives.
