Herald Coaster, December 7, 1978: Funeral services for J.W. (Johnie) Nawara, 75, of Fairchild, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Immanuel United Church of Christ in Needville, with the Rev. George Kuebler officiating. Burial will be in the Needville Public Cemetery. Mr. Nawara died early Dec. 7 at his residence. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Frances Nawara; two sons, Alton Roy Nawara of Rosenberg and J.W. Nawara Jr. of Houston; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two brothers, Henry Nawara of Rosenberg and Louis Nawara of Damon; one sister, Mrs. Mattie Revia of Rosenberg. Friends may call at the Garmany & Carden Needville Chapel after 4 p.m. today. The family requests memorials be made to the church instead of other remembrances.
