Wife of Hugo Nichter; Dau of John Nawara
Rosenberg Herald, March 12, 1926: In spite of all that loved ones, doctors and nurses could do, on February 28, 1926, at 5:50 P.M., the Angel of Death entered the home of Mr. Hugo Nichter and fled with the soul of his beloved wife. This was a shock to the entire community. Mrs. Nichter had had the flu, and had just about recovered when pneumonia set up, and death claimed her one week later. This leaves us to wonder why God saw fit to take her from us so soon, although we know our loss is Heaven's gain. Mrs. Nichter was a christian; she was a member of the Needville Lutheran Church. Mrs. Nichter will be remembered as Miss Hattie Nawara, the third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Nawara, prominent farmers of the Needville community. She was born January 22, 1896 at Wallis, Texas, and as a small child came with her parents to Fort Bend County. On December 11, 1913, she was married to Mr. Hugo Nichter of Fairchilds. This proved to be a happy couple. Deceased is survived by a heartbroken husband; one son and daughter; parents; two sisters, Mr. Gus Kreitz and Miss Mattie Nawara; seven brothers, Thomas, Frank, Louis, John, Ed, Gus and Henry all of Needville; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her loss. Funeral services were held at her home near Needville, conducted by Rev. Vilt. Interment was made in the Needville Cemetery. A large concourse of friends were present, deeply mourning with the grief-stricken relatives, that the earthly life of this young woman should be so short; and when the Lord shall summons us, whom she has left behind, may we, untainted by the world, as sure as welcome find.
