Rosenberg Herald, July 5, 1945: Funeral services for Mrs. Johanna Nawara were held from the Immanuel's Evangelical Church, Needville, Tuesday, July 3, 1945, at 3 p.m. Rev. Wm. E. Scholze, pastor, conducted the services in the presence of a host of sorrowing relatives and friends. Interment took place in the Public Cemetery at Needville. The Foerster Funeral Home had charge of funeral arrangements. The following served as pallbearers: Henry Lehmann, Fred Wehring, Frank Kaluza, Bill Krenek, Hugo Nichter, Hugo Juengermann. Mrs. Nawara was born in Waller County, Texas February 10, 1871. She was married to John Nawara in Austin County in 1888. He preceded her in death in 1928. She passed away at her home near Needville Sunday, July 1, 1945. Deceased is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Annie Kreitz of Needville and Mrs. Mattye Revia of Kingsville; seven sons, Tom, Louis, John, Ed, and Gus Nawara of Needville, Frank and Henry Nawara of Rosenberg; sixteen grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Sympathy, deep and sincere, is extended the bereaved.
