Bio

Rosenberg Herald, July 25, 1948: Mrs. Louis David, nee Cecilia Hajdik, passed away at her home Thursday evening, July 22, at 8 p.m. after an illness, at the age of 35 years. Funeral services were held from the family residence Sunday morning, July 25, at 10 a.m. and at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Witek having the mass and Rev. Tydlacka the sermon, and final services with Miss Lillian Stavinoha and her choir singing. Burial for Mrs. David was held at the Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in the presence of her friends and loved ones who gathered to pay their last tribute. The many beautiful floral offerings was an example of her many friends. Mrs. David was born in Smithville, Texas on Sept. 2 1912 to Mr. and Mrs. George Hajdik. She married Louis David on April 24, 1934. The union was blessed by three children. She is survived by her husband, Louis David; two daughters, Mary Ann and Bessie David, and one son, Jerry David, all of Rosenberg; her mother, Mrs. Anna Hajdik of Rosenberg; eight sisters, Mrs. Frances Chovanec, Mrs. Mary David, Mrs. Rosalie Antrich, Mrs. Georgia Krejci, all of Rosenberg, Mrs. Agnes Drabek of Richmond, Mrs. Annie Polak and Mrs. Lillian Macha of Houston, Mrs. Tillie Grigar of Wallis; two brothers, Johnnie Hajdik of Rosenberg and Joe Hajdik of Houston. Active pallbearers were her brothers-in-law, Alfred Grigar Jr., of Wallis, Edward Macha and Frank Polak of Houston, Clarence Krejci, Rudy Antrich, Rudolph David of Rosenberg. Funeral services were under the direction of the Triska Funeral Home.
