Herald Coaster, February 18, 1985: Funeral services for Frances A. Chovanec, 82, of Rosenberg, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg. Burial will be in West Gethsemane Cemetery in Rosenberg. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Davis-Dawson Funeral Home in Rosenberg, with Msgr. Robert Barzyk officiating. Mrs. Chovanec, a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, the KJZT, and the Altar Society, died Sunday afternoon in Bellville following a lengthy illness. Survivors include her husband, John C. Chovanec; two sons, Johnnie and Benjamin Chovanec; two daughters, Vera Becan and Otillie Matocha, both of Rosenberg; seven sisters, Agnes Kveton of Richmond, Mary David and Lillian Macha of Houston, Rosalie Antrich and Georgie Krejci of Rosenberg, Ann Polak of Houston, and Tillie Grigar of Sealy; two brothers, John and John Hajdik of Rosenberg; and 15 grandchildren. Friends may call at the Davis-Dawson Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Tuesday.
