Herald Coaster, July 20, 1992: Funeral services for John Jerry Hajdik, 78, of Rosenberg, are scheduled 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg. Father Dan Warden will officiate, with burial at West Gethsemane Cemetery in Rosenberg. A rosary service will be held 7 p.m. Monday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Mr. Hajdik was born May 25, 1914 in Smithville. He died Saturday at his residence. He was a businessman for 50 years in the Rosenberg area, first as IGA Store and then as FBC Grocery Store. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and KJT. Survivors include his wife, Marie Paukrt Hajdik of Rosenberg; three daughters and their husbands, Janey and Dean Schumacher of Richmond, Sherry and Billy Bergen of Lake Jackson, and Cathy and Gary Stone of Rosenberg; two sons, Kenneth Hajdik of Orchard and his wife, Merry Sue, and Chris Hajdik of Rosenberg and his special friend, Debbie Clifton; 12 grandchildren, Michelle Trevino and her husband, Herman, Shawn Bergen, Vicki Levrets and her husband, Shannon, Kristi Hajdik, Shelly Hajdik, Amber Stone, Melissa Stone, Kim Stone, Eric Stone, Shannon Hajdik, William Hajdik, and Ryan Hajdik; and a great-grandchild, Landon Hajdik. Memorials may be made to the Holy Rosary Catholic Church Building Fund. Friends may call after 5 p.m. Monday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Davis Funeral Home in Rosenberg.
