Herald Coaster, October 17, 2001: Funeral services for Annie Polak, 86, of Houston, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 19, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg, with interment following at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Father Howard Drabek will officiate the services. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel, 3900 B.F. Terry Blvd., FM 2218 at Highway 59 in Rosenberg. (281) 341-8800. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg. Annie was born Feb. 18, 1915 in Cistern to George Hajdik and Anna Schifek Hajdik. She went to be with the Lord on Oct. 15, 2001. She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Houston, the Altar Society, and the KJZT. She was preceded in death by her son, Larry Polak; her parents, George and Anna Hajdik; sisters, Agnes Drabek, Frances Chovanec, and Cecilia David; and a brother, Johnnie Hajdik. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Frank Polak of Houston; a daughter, Annette Schmidt and her husband, William, of Houston; sons, James Polak and his wife, Sharon, of Bryan, and Gene Polak of Houston; grandchildren, Army and Ryan Schmidt of Houston, Emma Polak of California, and Christopher and Nicholas Polak of Bryan; her twin sister, Rosalie Antrich of Rosenberg; sisters, Georgia Krejci of Rosenberg, Lillian Macha of Sugar Land, Tillie Grigar of Sealy, and Mary David of Houston; a brother, Joe Hajdik and his wife, Sophie, of Rosenberg; a sister-in-law, Marie Hajdik of Rosenberg; and many other family and friends. For those wishing, donations can be made in her name to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home. (281) 341-8800.
