Edd A. Hykel, 77, of 110 Mill, a lifelong resident of West, died Tuesday at his home. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Kotch Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, West, with Rev. B.J. Zientek as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Mr. Hykel was a retired farmer, carpenter and cotton mill employee. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and SPJST Lodge No. 6. His wife, Vlasta, died in 1980. Survivors include five sons, Harry Lee Hykel and Joe Hykel, both of West, Robert Hykel of DeSoto, Edward Hykel of Route 2, West, and Patrick Hykel of Ennis; two daughters, Mrs. Edward (Rosalie) Karlik of West and Mrs. Richard (Carol Ann) Lehmann of Hughes Springs; two brothers, Louis Hykel of West and Joe Hykel of Galveston; three sisters, Mrs. Julie Hrabal of Route 2, West, and Mrs. Carrie Janek and Mrs. Lillian Kudelka, both of Galveston; 26 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are Mark Hykel, Edward Hykel, Jr., Victor Hykel, Kenneth Karlik, Pat Karlik, and George Hykel. Honorary Pallbearers are Larry Hykel, David Hykel, Richard Karlik, Jerry Karlik, Dennis Karlik, Steven Karlik, Robert Hukel, Terry Hykel, Chris Hykel, Jonathan Hykel, Keith Hykel, Gene Hykel, Billy Karlik, Dennis C.
