Patrick "Butch" Hykel, 73, passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022, in Waxahachie, Texas. Butch was born in West, Texas, on May 8, 1948, to Edward and Vlasta (Hrabel) Hykel. He grew up in West, Texas, and graduated from West High School in 1967. Butch served his country proudly in the United States Army. On May 12, 1973, he married the love of his life, Joanie Skrivanek and they made their home in Ennis. Butch owned Hykel Construction for over thirty-five years. He was a member of the Knight of Columbus. Butch enjoyed working in his woodshop, target shooting, golf and anything outdoors. Butch is survived by his wife of over forty-eight years, Joanie Hykel; son, Jonathan "Jon" Hykel and wife, Karen; sister, Caral Ann Lehman and husband, Richard, along with many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Harry Lee, Robert, Edward, Joe and Victor along with his sister, Rosalie Karlik. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at 2 p.m. in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
