Mrs. Mary Hykel Dies on Monday Mrs. Magdalena Marie Hykel, age 71, died at her home here at 11 a.m. Monday, September 11th, following an illness of several months. Funeral services were held at the Catholic Church here at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Rev. E.J. Polcak officiating, burial in the Catholic cemetery. Born in Moravia, Mrs. Hykel came to the United States when she was 19 years of age. She had been a resident of this section for many years, having resided with her daughter, Mrs. Carey Janek, for the past 12 years. Surviving are six sons, Vince and Ed Hykel of West, Lewis and Frank Hykel of Abbott, Ludwig and Joe Hykel of Galveston; six daughters, Mrs. John Machovsky, Mrs. Carey Janek, Mrs. Arnold Hajek, Mrs. Alphonse Hrabel and Miss Lillie Hykel, all of West, and Mrs. Ed Muehlstein of Avoca; 45 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
