Edward Rudolph Hykel, 68, of Elm Mott, passed away Saturday, Jan. 25, 2008, at his residence. Services will be 10 a.m., Monday, Jan. 28, at Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Larry Holden and Father Isadore Rozycki officiating. Burial will follow in Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 27, at the funeral home. Edward was born in West, Texas, to the late Edward Alford and Vlasta (Hrabel) Hykel. He was a truck driver. He was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Hykel; and a sister, Rosalie Karlik. Survivors include his wife of 14 years, Elizabeth L. Hykel, of Elm Mott; children, Terry Hykel, Keith Hykel, Eddie Hykel, Karen Sonnenberg, Bobby Hykel, all of West, and Lanette Gerik, of Mart; ex-wife, Barbara Jean Hykel, the mother of his children; step-children, Marvin Wyrick, Lee Wyrick, Jeana Harkins and Ruby Hart; brothers, Harry Lee Hykel, Patrick Hykel and Robert Hykel; sister, Carol Ann Lehmann; 24 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
