Bio

Mrs. Ed (Vlasta) C. Hykel, 66, a lifelong resident of West, died Monday, Nov. 3, in West Community Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Nov. 5 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Rev. Bob Hajovsky as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery. Rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Nov. 5 at Kotch Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Hykel was born in West and lived there all her life. She was a retired employee of Lorch Manufacturing Co. and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband, Ed Hykel; five sons, Harry Lee Hykel, Edward Hykel and Joe Hykel, all of West, Robert Hykel of DeSoto and Patrick Hykel of Ennis; two daughters, Mrs. Edward (Rosalie) Karlik of West and Mrs. Richard (Carol Ann) Lehmann of Hughes Springs; a sister, Mrs. Marie Dvorak of Arlington; 26 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
