EDWARD MAZANEC FUNERAL TUESDAY AT CHADRON Edward Mazance, 80, a longtime resident of the Hemingford and Chadron areas, died Saturday at the Fair Acres Rest Haven in Scottsbluff. He was born June 17, 1884, at Brainard and married the late Mary Pekarek on February 5, 1906, in Brainard. She died in March, 1960. Mr. Mazanec came to Dawes County in 1928 and farmed in the area until his retirement in 1951. He was a member of the War Dads in both Chadron and Hemingford. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Elmer Lehl and Mrs. Genevieve K., Jones, both Hemingford, and Mrs. Myrtle C. Estes of Scottsbluff, four sons, Ernest of Crawford, Emery and Arnold, both of Hemingford, and George of Marsland, three sisters, Mrs. John Matousek and Mrs. Jim Bohuslavsky, both of Shelby, and Mrs. Joe Matousek of Atkinson and by two brothers, Louis of Grand Island, and Fred of Caldwell, Idaho. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, at the Erle wine Funeral Home with the Rev. David Harris, pastor of the Hemingford Congregational Church, officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at 7:30 tonight at the Erle wine Funeral Home. From the Alliance Times Herald, Alliance, Nebraska, Monday, May 3, 1965
