RITE THURSDAY FOR MARY MAZANEC, 71, OF HEMINGFORD Mrs. Mary Mazanec, 71, died Saturday afternoon in St. Joseph's Hospital. She was the wife of Edward Mazanec of Hemingford and they had lived in Northwest Nebraska since 1928. Mrs. Mazanec was born February 22, 1889, in Brainard and married Mr. Mazanec on February 6, 1906. They lived in Bruno until 1928 when they moved to a farm in Dawes County. Following their retirement in 1951 they moved to Hemingford. She was a member of the War Dads Auxiliary. Besides her husband she is survived by four sons, Ernest, George and Arnold, all of Marsland, and Emory of Hemingford, by three daughters, Mrs. Elmer Lehl of Hemingford, Mrs. Maurice Jones of Denver, Colorado, and Mrs. Myrle Estes of Scottsbluff, by two brothers, Joe Pekarek of Clearbrook, Minnesota and John Pekarek of Marshfield, Missouri by three sisters, Mrs. Ed Jergens of Marshfield, Missouri, Mrs. Ludwig Kucera of Clearbrook, Minnesota and Mrs. Joe Kozitek of Bruno, by 20 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. A son, Adrian, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, at the Hemingford Methodist Church with the Rev. Otto Quaife officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Chadron. The Bates Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. From the Alliance Times Herald, Alliance, Nebraska, Monday, March 14, 1960
