MAZANEC SERVICES ON FRIDAY Funeral services for Louis Mazanec, a retired Merrick County farmer will be held at 1:30 Friday in the Chapel of Livingston – Sonderman Funeral Home. Pastor Richard Magnuson will conduct the service. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday evening until nine until at the funeral home. Mr. Mazanec's death, in his home Monday at 706 North Poplar Street, was due to a circulatory ailment. He had been in ill health for many months. His death was discovered Tuesday by a county officer, who had been called by neighbors. Mr. Mazanec was born July 10,1890, at Abbie to John and Katherine Pohl Mazanec. He grew to manhood in the vicinity of Abbie. When a Young man, he moved to Brainard and farmed their prior to coming to Merrick County. He and Minnie Neisen Christensen were married December 2, 1938 at Kearney. They made their home on the farm near Chapman until 1951, when they retired and came into Grand Island lo make their home. Mrs. Mazanec died Sept. 1, 1966. Mr. Mazanec is survived by one brother, Fred of Caldwell, Idaho, three sisters, Mrs. John Matousek, Shelby, Mrs. Joe Matousek, Atkinson, and Mrs. Mary Bohuslowky, Odell and by many nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Adolph and Edward Mazanec. From the Grand Island Daily Independent, Grand Island, Nebraska, Wednesday, June 11, 1969
