Bio

Herald Coaster, February 21, 1977: Funeral services for Nelson Charles Bettin, 56, of Needville, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Garmany and Co. Funeral Chapel in Needville, with Rev. George Kuebler officiating. Burial will be in the Needville Public Cemetery. Mr. Bettin died Saturday at his home in Needville. He was a member of the American Legion No. 350 and a veteran of World War II. He is survived by three brothers, Herbert and Melvin, both of Needville and Paul of Rosenberg; four sisters, Mrs. Ella Mesecke of Needville, Mrs. Lillie Shefcik of Edna, Mrs. Minnie Oakes and Mrs. Nell Rose Garrett, both of Rosenberg; and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends may call by Garmany and Co. Funeral Home in Needville after 3 p.m. Monday. Memorials may be made to the Immanuel United Church of Christ in Needville.
