Herald Coaster, December 13, 1982: Funeral services for Lillie Bettin Shefcik, 72, of Cordele, formerly of Needville, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Slavik Funeral Home Chapel in Edna, followed by services at 2 p.m. in St. Paul Presbyterian Church in Needville. Burial will be in the Needville Public Cemetery. Mrs. Shefcik died Sunday at her home in Cordele. Survivors include two sons, Calvin Shefcik of Port Lavaca and Eugene Shefcik of Cordele; three brothers, Herbert and Melvin Bettin of Needville, and Paul Bettin of Rosenberg; three sisters, Ella Mesecke of Needville, and Minnie Oakes and Nell Rose Garrett of Rosenberg; six grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
