Bio

Herald Coaster, September 20, 1964: Edwin August Bettin, 51, died at his residence Tuesday, Sept. 15. He was a farmer and a lifelong resident of the Needville area. Survivors include five brothers, Louis, Herbert, Nelson, and Melvin, all of Needville, and Paul of Rosenberg; four sisters, Mrs. Ella Mesecke of Needville, Mrs. Minnie Oaks of Rosenberg, Mrs. Lillie Shefcik of Edna, and Mrs. Nell Rose Garrett of Corpus Christi. Services were held Thursday, Sept. 17, at the Immanuel United Church of Christ of Needville, with Rev. Ed Weltge officiating. Burial was in the Needville Public Cemetery under the direction of Garmany and Co. Funeral Directors.
