Herald Coaster, March 11, 1986: Funeral services for Melvin H. Bettin, 60, of Needville, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Needville, with the Rev. George Kuebler officiating. Burial will be at Needville Public Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Patty Bettin of Needville; a daughter, Paula Zan Bettin of Needville; two brothers, Paul Bettin Jr. of Rosenberg and Herbert Bettin of Needville; three sisters, Mrs. Ella Mesecke of Needville, Mrs. Nell Rose Garrett, and Mrs. Minnie Oakes, both of Rosenberg; and, numerous nieces and nephews.
