1957 January 6 - Kelly's death was announced in The Marietta (Georgia) Journal, p. 5 , col. 4 "Funeral Services Set Sunday at 3 for O. K. Wallace Funeral services for Oscar Kelly Wallace, 77, of 214 Ayers Avenue, will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. in the First Baptist Church. Remains will be placed in state at the church from 2 p.m. until funeral hour. Dr. George F. Brown and the Rev. Ben F. Turner will officiate. Interment will be in Mountain View Park Cemetery. Sons will serve as pallbearers. Albert M. Dobbins Funeral Home is in charge. Wallace died Friday evening as result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident several months ago. He was born in Piedmont, Ala., moving to Marietta at an early age. He was educated in Marietta schools. He was a charter member of the Austin Avenue Baptist Church. He owned and operated the OK Candy Kitchen in Marietta for a number of years, retiring several years ago from active work. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Ida Lewis Wallace; five daughters, Mrs. Winston Barfield, Mrs. Sue Baker, Marietta; Mrs. Pearl McEntyre, Covington, Ky; Mrs. James Graden, Atlanta; Mrs. Roger Brooks, Statesville, NC; six sons, Oscar L. Wallace, Warwick, Va; Clyde E. Wallace, Eustis, Fla; J. H. Wallace, Smyrna; Capt. Oliver Wallace, Columbus, Ohio; M. Edward Wallace, Fairfax, Va; Richard Wallace, Atlanta; 23 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Floyd Johnson, Forsyth; Mrs. Gove Clifton, Blountsville, Ala; several nieces and nephews."
