Bio
Eliza Jane had 7 known children with Toliver Watson Wallace and 2 with her second husband, Thomas F. Gregory. Although her death certificate shows Alabama as her place of birth, all U.S. census records for 1880-1910 show Georgia. She has not been found in the 1870 U.S. census. Eliza and Toliver were married on 18 Apr 1878 in Marshall County, Alabama. Their first child, Oscar Kelly Wallace, was born 1879, in what is now Piedmont, Cherokee/Calhoun County, Alabama. By 1880, Eliza and Toliver were living in Cobb County, Georgia, and the rest of their children were born there: (Lucky Dallas, b 1881; Mattie, b 1883; Thomas Hawkins, b 1885; Bonnie May, b 1886; Isaac Duffy, b 1889; and Edna Geneva, b 1895). Toliver Watson Wallace died 09 Nov 1896 in Marietta, Cobb County, Georgia. On 07 Oct 1899, Eliza married Thomas F. Gregory. They lived in DeKalb County, Georgia, in 1900 and by 1910 they were in Gainesville, Cooke County, Texas, where they ran the Victory Hotel, a boarding house at 114 N. Dixon Street, Gainesville. Their 2 daughters were named Ellen (b 1900) and Frances (b 1902).
