Bio
Aunt Bonnie earned her nursing degree at the Rowan Memorial School of Nursing in Salisbury, Rowan County, North Carolina, in September 1948 after a three year course of study. She married Roger Malcomb Brooks, Jr. on 09 July 1949 in Lexington, Davidson County, North Carolina. She was a member of the nursing staff of Lexington Memorial Hospital at the time of her marriage and Roger was employed with radio station WBUY in Lexington. She and Roger had four children. Aunt Bonnie returned to Marietta in 1964 and lived there until her death. She worked as a registered nurse at Brawner Psychiatric Institute in Smyrna, Georgia, and as a coronary care nurse at Kennestone Hospital. She also served as a private duty nurse. She was a member of Roswell Street Baptist Church.
