Rev. Isaac Duffy Wallace was born in Cobb County, Georgia, on 01 July 1889, the son of Toliver Watson Wallace (1848-1896) and Eliza Jane (Rainey) Wallace Gregory (1862-1911). I. D. Wallace married Bessie Lou Wallis in Cobb County, Georgia, on 28 December 1912. Bessie was the daughter of Calvin Webb (Cab) Wallis and Athie Lena (Bishop) Wallis. Calvin Webb Wallis and Toliver Watson Wallace were brothers, even though they spelled their surnames differently. Wallis was used alternately with Wallace among family members. Bessie Lou Wallis was born 26 January 1893 in Collin County, Texas, and died there on 16 May 1971.
