OBITUARY Funeral rites for Mrs. Etta Lee CHILDRESS, 74, were held Saturday afternoon at three o’clock at the First Baptist Church in Canadian, with the Rev. Dinzel Leonard, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the Canadian Cemetery under direction of Stickley-Hill Funeral Home. Mrs. CHILDRESS died Thursday, December 28, 1978 at the Hemphill County Hospital in Canadian. Surviving her are one son, J. R. CHILDRESS of Canadian and two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth BAXTER of Canadian and Mrs. Juanita SUMRALL of Midwest City, Oklahoma; a brother, Arthur RANKIN of Olton; four sisters, Mrs. Lela MAXWELL and Mrs. Ester WATTS, both of Wellington, Mrs. Pauline SHINN of Lubbock, and Mrs. Berniece LANE of Childress; twelve grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
