OBITUARY W. L. CHILDRESS, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence A. CHILDRESS of Canadian, who married Miss Lois DECKER, an employee of Artie’s Beauty Shop at that time, about four months ago, was electrocuted about 5:30 Wednesday evening, April 14, 1948 in the switchyards at Hereford, Texas, while attempting to fix a blown fuse on a high voltage power line. CHILDRESS was living with his wife in a trailer about a mile east of Hereford. He had worked for the Santa Fe about eight months. Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by one brother and two sisters; J. R. and Elizabeth of Canadian; and Mrs. Thomas SUMMERALL, of Odell; and a host of friends. Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church in Canadian on Friday afternoon at 3 o’clock with the pastor, Rev. Fern A. Miller officiating.
