Mrs. Henry (Emilie) Zapalac, Sr., age 88 of West, died February 18, 1986 in West Community Hospital. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. February 19 in Kotch Funeral Home Chapel, by Msgr. George Doskocil. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Feb. 20 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in West with Msgr. B.J. Zientek as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Mrs. Zapalac was born February 26, 1897 at Sweet Home, and had lived most of her life in West. She married Henry Zapalac, Sr. , November 8, 1920 at West. Mrs. Zapalac was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in West, the Altar Rosary Society, Catholic Daughters of America Court 829 and the KJZT Society No. 11. She is survived by her husband, Henry Zapalac, Sr. of West; two sons, Henry C. Zapalac, Jr. of Bryan and George H. Zapalac, Sr. of Austin; two daughters, Lillian Zapalac of Dallas and Georgia Landkamer of Mankato, Minnesota; three brothers, Anton, George and Jerry Jezek, all of West; six sisters, Mary Mazanec and Magdalen Muska, both of West, Agnes Mazanec of Bellmead, Betty Gazzio, Josephine Jezek and Lillian Cassidy, all of Dallas; 16 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers are Adolph Muska, Jr., Jerry Zapalac, Randy Zavodny, John Marek, Richard Zapalac and Charles Zapalac. Serving as honorary pallbearers are George Zapalac, Jr., Mark Landkamer, Greg Landkamer, Tim Landkamer, David Zapalac, John Landkamer and Patrick Landkamer.
