Jerry Jezek, age 73, of West passed away December 13, 1986 at his residence. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Dec. 14 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption by Michael Lyons. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 2 p.m., Dec. 15 at St. Mary's Catholic church of the Assumption. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Mr. Jezek was born December 28, 1912 in Abbott to Anton and Emilie Jezek. He married Annie Vlk in West Dec. 26, 1947. He was a retired painter and interior decorator. He served in the Army during World War II and was a Prisoner of War for about 14 months and received a Purple Heart. Jezek was a member of VFW Post No. 4819 and the KJT. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. He is survived by his wife, Annie of West; three sons, Jim Jezek of Athens, Francis J. Jezek of Arlington and Joe E. Jezek of Houston; four daughters, Ann Couture of Kent, Washington, Mary Jane Saupe of California, Kathryn Brown of Roswell, New Mexico and Linda S. Klaus of Hoen; one brother, George Jezek of West; six sisters, Magdalene Muska, Mary Mazanec and Agnes Mazanec, all of West, Betty Fazzio, Josie Jezek and Lil Cassidy, all of Dallas; 19 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Adolph Muska, Anthony Muska, Tommy Muska, Richard Jezek, George Jezek, Jr. and Jacqueline Couture. Aderhold Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
