Mr. Frank J. Jezek, age 86, of 506 N. Marable, passed away Thursday, August 27, at West Community Hospital. Mr. Jezek was born at Sweet Home, Texas, July 31, 1895. He moved to West when he was 13 where he lived the rest of his life. He was a talented musician. His favorite instrument was the trumpet. He also played the harmonica and accordion and had his own orchestra from 1921 until 1938. He served in the European Theater in World Ward I and played in the Army Band. He was co-owner of the Royal Confectionary in West from 1925 until 1968. Prior to that he was a partner in the Jezek Brothers Music Store. Mr. Jezek was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church, the VFW Post 4819m American Legion #478, K.C. #2305, AARP, and KJT #11. He married Lillian Mikulik June 18, 1928. He is survived by his wife, Lillian; two daughters, Mrs. Bernice Watson of Yoakum and Mrs. Barbara Fisher of Houston; three brothers, Anton Jezek, George Jezek and Jerry Jezek, all of West; seven sisters, Millie Zapalac, Mary Mazanec and Maggie Muska, all of West, Agnes Mazanec of Waco, Betty Fazzio, Josephine Jezek and Lillian Cassidy, all of Dallas; seven grandchildren, Deborah Watson Mino, Dr. David Paul Watson, Dwight Watson, Diane Watson, Karen Fisher, Matthew Fisher, Michael Fisher and Michael Mino. Rosary was recited at 7:00 p.m. Friday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Bob Hajovsky and the Rev. Kenneth Mikulik. Mass of Christian Burial was Saturday, August 29, 1981, at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, Msgr. George Doskocil officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery.
