Bio

Anton Soukup, Sr., West Farmer, Dies Anton Soukup, Sr., 55 years of age and a life-long resident of this section, died at his home near West at 10:00 p.m. last Thursday, May 3rd. He was a native of Texas, being born in this state on December 18, 1878. He was one of the most prominent farmers of this section. Funeral services was held from the house at 8 a.m. and at the Catholic Church at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 5th, with Msg. Pelnar in charge, assisted by Rev. E. J. Polcak and Rev. Fr. Dobias. Interment was at the Catholic Cemetery. Pall bearers were Frank Bezdek, Vince Maresh, Jim Sula, Will Girard, W. A. Zatopek and John Stanislav. Honorary pall bearers were Capt. M. Pazdral, Aug. J. Morris, P.S. Skrabanek, Henry Nors, R. S. Ray and Dominik Kramer. Survivors are: his widow, Mrs. Rosa Soukup; five daughters, Mrs. Louis J. Bezdek, Mrs. V.A. Kapczynski, Mrs. Hubert Piscacek and Misses Lucille and Martha Soukup, all of West; nine sons, Frank, Joe, Anton Jr., Rudolf, Ben, Vaclav, Louis, Emil and Walter Soukup.
