Annie Soukup Kapczynski, age 91 of West, passed away Wednesday morning, November 12, 1997, at West Rest Haven. A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Nov. 13 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Melvin Dornak. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Nov. 14 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West with the Rev. Ed Karasek officiating. Burial followed at St. Mary's Cemetery. Mrs. Kapczynski was born June 20, 1906, near Ross, the daughter of Anton and Rosa Soukup. She married Vincent A. Kapczynski on January 12, 1925, in West. He preceded her in death on December 2, 1961. She was a homemaker and cooked for special occasions. She was a member of R.V.O.S., K.J.Z.T. Society No. 11, Catholic Daughters of America Court No. 829, all of West, and a lifetime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. She is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Cecilia Helen Kapczynski; seven brothers, Frank, Joe, Anton, Rudolph, Louis, Ben, and Jim Soukup; and one sister, Mary Bezdek. She is survived by one daughter, Annie Rose Vrba and her husband, Ermin of Sherman; four sons, Vincent Kapczynski and his wife Nona Jean of Houston, Raymond Kapczynski and his wife, Georgia of West, Roman Kapczynski and his wife, LaVerne of Grand Prairie and Benjamin Kapczynski and his wife, Jeanne of West; two brothers, Emil Soukup and Walter Soukup, both of West; three sisters, Lucille Soukup, Sophie Piscacek and Martha Rejcek, all of West; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Tony Vrba, Scot Kapczynski, Darrell Kapczynski, Kenneth Schuetze, Harry Volcik, David Pierce, Douglas Pierce and Vincent Kapczynski, Jr. Honorary pallbearers were Donna Mobley, Susi West, Denise Vasicek, Diane Schuetze, Annette Kapczynski, Paula Snokhous, Shelia Kapczynski and Brenna Bollom.
