Bio

Anna Mae Snapka, age 86 of West, passed away early Tuesday morning, Oct. 26, 1999 at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco. A rosary will be recited 7 p.m. Thursday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West by Deacon Buddy Shieldes. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with the Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery near West. Mrs. Snapka was born on July 12, 1913 in Hill County, the daughter of Joseph and Marie Bezdek. She married Ernest H. Snapka on Oct. 16, 1934 in West. He preceded her in death on January 24, 1990. She was a homemaker and housewife. Anna enjoyed visiting with people, quilting and gardening. She was a member of the K.J.Z.T. in Abbott; Catholic Daughters of America Court #829 and the Czech Heritage Society. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption and St. Mary's Altar Rosary Society in West. She is preceded in death by one son, Richard A. Snapka, who died on Oct. 10, 1983. She is survived by two sons, Ernie Snapka of Pittsburg, Tx and Eugene Snapka of Waco; three daughters, Toni Snapka of West, Kathleen Pustejovsky of Abbott and Carolyn Harlow of Rockwall; one sister, Sophie Snapka of Corpus Christi; sixteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers are the grandsons, Michael Snapka, Robert Snapka, Dale Snapka, Ronny Snapka, Gerald Snapka, Paul Pustejovsky, Steve Pustejovsky and Gary Pustejovsky. Honorary pallbearers are Tommy Pustejovsky, Dr. Billy D. Pierce, Joe Lenart and Robert Pavelka. Aderhold Funeral Home in West is in charge of arrangements.
