Funeral services for Frank J. Marak, 75, of West were held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 23 at the Church of the Assumption. Rev. James Quilter officiated, with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Rosary was recited at Kotch Chapel at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Mr. Marak died at 8:50 p.m. Friday in a Waco hospital. Mr. Marak was a retired farmer. He had lived in West all his life. He married Miss Agnes Gerik of West. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Oct. 14. He was a member of the Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and K.D. Catholic Workmen. Surviving are his wife; seven sons, Arthur Marak, Alfred Marak, Harry Marak, and Stanley Marak of West, Frankie Marak and Robert Marak, of Abbott and Raymond Marak of Dallas; six daughters Mrs. Edith Sulak of Arlington, Mrs. Mollie Vanzura of Shreveport, La., Mrs. Evelyn Vrbas, Mrs. Henrietta Snokhous, Mrs. Helen Klish and Mrs. Marie Kubacak of West; one sister, Mrs. Albina Walla of West; 34 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
