Bio

Mrs. Joe (Albina) Walla, age 97 of West, passed away Tuesday morning, May 7, 1991 in West Community Hospital. Rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Wednesday in Kotch Funeral Home Chapel, West, by Msgr. George Doskocil. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, with Rev. Bill Hopkins and Rev. Ed Karasek as co-celebrants. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery, West. Mrs. Walla was born February 18, 1894 in West and had lived there all of her life. She was an artist and homemaker. Mrs. Walla was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in West, the K.J.Z.T. Society #11 and the Altar Rosary Society. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Walla, who died August 28, 1964. Mrs. Walla is survived by two sons, Joe F. Walla of Waco and Charlie Walla of Littleton, Colorado; four daughters, Rosalie Walla of West, Josephine Ames of Richardson, Mary Ann Hopkins of Temple and Delores Quinn of Dickerson, Texas; 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Joe W. Walla, Jr., Charles H. Hopkins, Je., Andrew J. Walla, Frank M. Quin, Jr., Michael Holcomb and Bill Gohring. Kotch Funeral Home of West was in charge of arrangements.
