Frank J. Kapavik, age 90, of Rt. 1, West, died Monday afternoon, June 22, 1992 in Gonzales. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday by Msgr. George Doskocil in Kotch Funeral Home Chapel, West. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Isidore Rozycki as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery, West. Mr. Kapavik was born September 4, 1901 near Cottonwood and had lived in West most of his life. He was a retired farmer and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. He married Emilie Foitek November 7, 1921 at West. She preceded him in death September 15, 1978. He is also preceded in death by two sons, Henry Kapavik and Frankie Kapavik. Survivors include one son, Ernest E. Kapavik of Gonzales; three daughters, Mrs. Reinard Kramer of Waco, Mrs. Wesley (Helen) Sulak of Arlington and Mrs. Freddie (Josephine) Hutyra of 201 Norma; one sister, Mrs. Lillian Pendleton of West; 25 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Pallbearers were Patrick Sulak, Frank Kapavik, Henry Kapavik, Jr., Donald Kramer, Freddie Kapavik and Larry Kapavik. Kotch Funeral Home in West was in charge of arrangements.
