Funeral Services Held Thursday For Mrs. Matus Mrs. Hattie Matus, 49, died at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday at her home in West. She had been ill for several months. Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. Thursday, May 19 at the Church of the Assumption, Msgr. I.J. Valenta officiated. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the J.C. Karlik home. Mrs. Matus was born in West and had lived here most of her life. Mr. and Mrs. Matus formerly operated the Circleburger. She was a member of the Altar Society and Catholic Church. Survivors are her husband, Charlie Matus; three brothers, Frank J. Kapavik of West, Rudolph Kapavik of Abbott, and Emil Kapavik of Waco; two sisters, Mrs. J.C. Karlik of West, and Mrs. Sam Pendleton of El Paso; her mother, Mrs. Annie Kapavik of West.
