Henry F. Kapavik, 57, of West died Monday, December 17 in West Community Hospital. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 18 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with the Rev. Gene Shepard officiating. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery. Mr. Kapavik was born September 9, 1922, in West and was a lifelong resident there. He was a retired employee of General Tire. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Regina Kapavik; his father, Frank Kapavik of West; three sons, Robert Kapavik, Henry Kapavik, Jr. and Jimmy Kapavik, all of West; two daughters, Mrs. Frankie (Peggy) Kucera and Mrs. David (Rita) Schroeder, both of West; two brothers, Ernest Kapavik of Gonzales and Frankie Kapavik of West; three sisters, Mrs. Reinard (Georgie) Kramer of Waco, Mrs. Wesley (Helen) Sulak of Arlington and Mrs. Freddie (Josie) Hutyra of Waco; and six grandchildren. Pallbearers were Don Kramer, Patrick Sulak, David Kapavik, Steve Hlavenka, Harry Hlavenka, Dennis Kral, Jr., Billy Ray Dudik and Frankie Kapavik, Jr. The West News, West, Texas, Volume 89, No. 51, Edition 1, Thursday, December 20, 1979, page 2.
