Requiem Mass Held Sat. For Emil Hutyra, Sr. Emil C. Hutyra, Sr., 75, of 704 West Broadway was dead on arrival at a West hospital Thursday afternoon, Nov. 23. He died apparently of a heart attack. Requiem mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, Rev. George Doskocil was celebrant. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. at Kotch Funeral Home Chapel Friday. Mr. Hutyra was born in West. He lived in Gonzales six years. He had lived in the West area 42 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. He was a retired heavy equipment operator for McLennan County Precinct 3. He worked for the county 25 years. Mr. Hutyra was also a retired farmer and a veteran of World War II. His wife died March 2 of this year. Survivors are four sons, Henry Hutrya of Ross, Emil J. Hutyra of Tours, Raymond J. Hutyra and Roy D. Hutyra, both of West; four daughters, Mrs. Ben (Ida) Matus of West, Mrs. M.F. (Evelyn) Whitener of Washington, Mo., Mrs. John (Dorothy) Podsednik and Mrs. Marion (Mary) Wachel, both of Houston; two brothers, Vinc Hutyra of Abbott, and Louis Hutyra of Route 2, West; three sisters, Mrs. Bertha McMillen of Bellmead, Mrs. Agnes Barton of West, and Mrs. Mary Kohut of Hillsboro; 50 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
