Mrs. Kohut Dies; Rites Held Wednesday Mrs. Louis (Mary) Kohut, age 83 of Route 1, Hillsboro, formerly of West, passed away at her residence Monday morning. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 26 at Kotch Funeral Home Chapel in West. Requiem mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 27, in St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption with Rev. William Benish as celebrant. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Mrs. Kohut was born in West and lived in the West area until moving to Hillsboro 8 years ago. She was a member of St. Mary's Church of the Assumption, KJZT #11 of West and the Altar Society of Hillsboro. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis, who died November 1, 1963. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Charlie (Hattie) Matus of HIllsboro; one brother, Louis Hutyra of West; 2 sisters, Mrs. Bessie McMillan of Bellmead and Mrs. Frank (Agnes) Barton of West. Also one grandchild and 3 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Felix Matus, Richard Matus, Richard Hlavenka, Willie Kubala, Willie Rejcek and Emil Hutyra, Jr. The West News, West, Texas, Volume 84, No. 32, Edition 1, Thursday, November 28, 1974, page 5.
