Bio
Born in Nixon, Texas on February 23, 1924 to the late Emil Cryil and Frances Catherine (Pavlica) Hutyra. On February 1, 1944 in Corpus Christi, Texas she was united in marriage to Manuel F. Whitener Sr. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Lady's Sodality. She was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel; brothers, Henry, Raymond and Emit Hutyra; and sister, Mary Wachel. Her survivors include her children, Samuel Whitener of Little Rock, Arkansas, Ronald Whitener of Centralia, Illinois, Manuel Whitener Jr. of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Jackie Kohler and husband Jerry of Owensville, Lisa Whitener of Cape Girardeau, Lora Duncan and husband Marshall of Marthasville; brother, Roy Hutyra and wife Doris of West Texas; sisters, Ida Drozd of West Texas and Dorothy Podsednik of Houston, Texas; and by 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
