Frank Hutyra, 69, Dies After Stroke Frank Hutyra, 69, of Route 2, Abbott, passed away suddenly in a Waco hospital Sunday following a stroke. Funeral services were conducted at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Abbott with Father Chas. Smid officiating. Interment was in Abbott Cemetery. Rosary was recited at Aderhold Chapel at 7:30 p.m. Monday. Mr. Hutyra had been in the best of health until his death. He had been attending to all of his farming duties and even made a trip to Waco on Saturday. He was stricken at home early Sunday morning and was rushed to a Waco hospital where two other strokes proved fatal at 3:40 p.m. A native of Fayette County, he was born March 9, 1885, the son of Ignac and Pauline Hutyra. While a young boy, he came to the West and Abbott Communities with his parents. He had been engaged in farming here since. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Annie Hutyra of Abbott; a son Frank Hutyra, Jr. of West; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Ann Nors of Hillsboro and Mrs. Lucille Urbanovsky of Whitesboro; four brothers, Vinc, Willie and Emil Hutyra, all of West; and Louis Hutyra of Abbott; five sisters, Mrs. Agnes Barton, Mrs. Willie Kubala, Mrs. Tom Hlavenka, Mrs. Louis Kohut, all of West, and Mrs. Bessie Seith of Waco; five grandchildren. Pallbearers were Herman Grimm, Louis Hutyra, Vinc Hutyra, Jim Mashek, Joe Mashek, and Tom Hlavenka. The West News, West, Texas, Volume 63, No. 42, Edition 1, Friday, February 26, 1954, page 1.
