Services for Arlene Mae Wegener, 83, of Fairmont, MN, formerly of Armstrong, IA, will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. at the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Armstrong. Burial will be held following the service in the Fairview Cemetery in Fenton, IA. Arlene passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2007, at the Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center in Fairmont, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the time of service beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Armstrong, IA. Arlene Mae (Wegner) Wegener was born on May 19, 1924, on the family farm rural Armstrong, IA, to parents, Frank and Emma (Werling) Wegner. She was one of fifteen children born to the couple. Arlene attended "Cheever" Country School near Armstrong. Arlene was united in marriage to Andrew Gram in 1943. She was later united in marriage to John Wegener in Fairmont, MN, in 1966. The couple made their home in the rural Armstrong, Fenton, and Swea City areas before retiring to Armstrong. Arlene took great pride in caring for her home and also helping with the farming and trucking business. In 1999, Arlene moved to Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center in Fairmont. She was a life member of the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Armstrong where she was very active serving as President of the ladies group, singing in the choir, and teaching Sunday School. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary in Armstrong and had served as past President. Arlene was also a member of the Cooties Organization of Estherville, American Legion of Fairmont, former Assistant 4-H Leader and Cub Scout Leader and also a member of the Pony Express. Survivors include her children Sharlene Feely of Blue Hill, NE; and Tim Wegener and his wife Kerry of Fairmont, MN; four grandchildren, Susan Karmazin and husband Tim of Lawrence, NE; William Feely and wife Dawn of Grand Island, NE; and Alycia Carroll and Emily Wegener of Fairmont, MN; six great grandchildren, Brett, Brandon and Corbin Karmazin, Andrew, Lauren and Aidan Feely; one brother, Donald Wegner and wife Karen of Fairmont, MN; five sisters, Lillian Johnson of Fairmont, MN; Florence Pytleski of Fairmont, MN; Gladys Mart and husband Clinton of Armstrong, IA; Dorothy Johnson of Armstrong, IA; Velda Sathoff of Armstrong, IA; sister-in-law, JoAnn Waite and husband Jerry of Fenton, IA; and one brother-in-law, Gene Wegener of Morton, MN. In addition to her parents; and husband, John; Arlene is preceded in death by five sisters, three brothers, nine brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; and a son-in-law, Jim Feely.
