Bio

Funeral services for Earl W. Wegner, 57, of East Chain Township, rural Elmore, were held September 7 at the East Chain Lutheran Church with burial in the Armstrong Grove cemetery. Mr. Wegner died of cancer Saturday, September 4, at the Fairmont Community Hospital. He had been in failing health the past eighteen months and was hospitalized the past ten days. Mr. Wegner was born February 13, 1914, at Armstrong. On November 24, 1937 he was married to Henrietta Schmidtke at Armstrong. They farmed in the East Chain area for many years and for the past two years, he was employed at Arts Way. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Henrietta Wegner of Elmore, Minnesota; one son Jerry of Swea City; two daughters, Mrs. Wayne Moeller and Mrs. Kenneth Kruse, both of Fairmont; and seven grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers and eleven sisters: Mrs. Luella Hanson, Mrs. Carl Jorgensen, Mrs. Sylvester Borowiak, Mrs. Phil Nawrocki, Mrs. Roman Pytleski, Mrs. Edward Sathoff and Robert Wegner, all of Fairmont; Clyde and Donald Wegner, Mrs. Clinton Mart, Mrs. Edwin Sathoff and Mrs. Jerry Johnson, all of Armstrong; Mrs. Ervin Johnson of Swea City and Mrs. Johnny Wegener of Fenton. Olson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. (48060184)
