Bio

John G. Goblirsch was born on 24 April 1879, in Henryville Township, Renville County, Minnesota, to Michael and Katharina “Katherine” Weis Goblirsch. He attended a rural country school where he completed fifth grade. On 17 January 1905, John married Anna F. Schnobrick, the daughter of Joseph and Anna Helget Schnobrick, in Morton, Renville County, Minnesota. It should be noted that Anna’s maiden name was also spelled “Schnobrich.” After their marriage, John and Anna farmed in rural Milroy, in Redwood County, Minnesota. John and Anna had five children: Joseph, who married Rose Anna Frank in 1934, Katherine “Katie” who married Stephan Zeug in 1929, Mary who married Joseph Brey, Jr., in 1933, Michael Lenius “Mike” who married Beatrice Mary “Bessie” Frank in 1934, and Susan Marie “Sue” “Susie” who married Sylvester Klabunde in 1947; and, after his death in 1977, Susie married Clarence Petracek in 1983. John G. Goblirsch died on 21 June 1942, in a hospital in Marshall, Lyon County, Minnesota. John was buried in Our Lady of Victory Catholic Cemetery in Lucan, Redwood County, Minnesota.
